I’ve Fallen Off The Wagon

Priest: Oh my child, please come in.

Me: Father, I have sinned, I need to make a confession.

Priest: Right this way, my child. *leads into confessional, me on one side, priest on the other* Ok my child, what seems to be troubling you?

Me: Father, my friends and I have this blog, you know what that is, right? Well, anyways, we talk about what we’ve been eating and what we’re doing to exercise. Its a diary of our weight loss goals, our thoughts through this journey of weight loss.

Priest: Well, what seems to be the problem?

Me: Well, you see, Father, I had to go shopping today. I had to get up early at the butt crack of dawn just to get to the stores so we could beat traffic, I skipped breakfast, I went until about 3:00 without eating anything, by then we were really hungry (my family was the ones I went with) so we stopped at a MacDonald’s (McDonald’s) and I had FRIES, a chicken sandwich WITH BACON and a coke! (shown below).

Mmmm, carbs, starch!

Priest: Oh my, that is a lot. So, you’re on a diet, yet, you ate all this FATTY food? WHY?

Me: Because thats what the family was buying and I didn’t want to sound rude and say I wanted something healthier, because usually, healthier means more expensive.

Silent Pause

Me: Thats not all father, after we got home this evening, we had to go to the store again and by the time we had finished shopping we were hungry and it was time to eat again, it was approximately 8 PM and it would have taken an hour to get home. So, we stopped by the (what I call) 3 store gas station and each of us got a personal pan pizza from Pizza Hut and we each got a drink. (shown below).

Me: I indulged myself, it was EXTREMELY delicious. Father, I have sinned. I have fallen off of the wagon. I haven’t been able to go walking the past few days, I’ve been busy, I’ve only been able to walk around the yard for exercise and today, LORD KNOWS I got my exercise today, so today, I DID get my exercise, I walked and walked and sweated and sweated, so, I don’t feel so bad about today, other than the food. Oh Father, what should I do?

Priest: *silent* … *begins to snore*

Me: *leaves*

(Me going to a priest…never really happened, just thought it would be fun)

*sigh* I don’t know what to do. This is EXTREMELY difficult. Its so hard whenever you go out with people and you have to stop and eat, they’re paying because you’re broke and you don’t want to ask for something expensive. I REALLY hope this week I can get back on track with the walking, but, I know for sure I will be extremely busy again, there is something coming up…I hope, that will seriously change my life. So, don’t think I’m quitting, just wanted to say that this is really hard.

Just a Quickie

I am exhausted, so, I gotta make this quick.

Breakfast: Salad
Lunch: Salad
Supper: Grilled Cheese
Snacks: I was really horrible today, I made peanut butter cookies, HOWEVER, I managed to only have 3 of them. SO, I SERIOUSLY think I done good.

Exercise: Walked around the yard after it had quit raining.

Ok, going to bed…been a REAL busy day.

Another Busy Day

Breakfast: Two fried eggs & two fried pieces of ham (greasiness drained on paper towels).
Lunch: Salad
Supper: Fish sticks & rice.
Snack: Grapes

Exercise: I, again, did not get to go walking because of the rain. It poured this afternoon. I was also busy working and waiting on a phone call. It was an EXTREMELY important phone call, hopefully you’ll be hearing good news about it in the future.

Cat is gone, mice will play.

So, John is gone on vacation. Since he’s gone on vacation and going to be eating a lot of very yummy food, maybe we should take a vacation too? Make a bunch of food, have a grand ole feast? No? *sigh* OK, FINE! I won’t do it! I promise!

What I ate today: For lunch today (I didn’t have breakfast) I had a salad, I put onion & tomato into the salad mix (I get salad from a bag). I also added a little bit of Italian dressing. It would have been better with olives, but, we don’t have any, so, OH WELL! For supper this evening I had another salad, I put onions & tomato in it again, but this time I used a little bit of French dressing and I also cut up some baked chicken that was leftover and put into the salad. I also had just a little bit of spaghetti later on in the evening because the salad apparently wasn’t enough to fill me up. For snacks today I ate grapes. I even went back down to the grape vines and picked some more, which I’ll be doing again tomorrow and until they’re all gone.

My exercise today: Well, I was bad today, well, not necessarily, I wasn’t bad, the weather was bad so I didn’t get to go walking. I guess the only exercise I got today was doing the dishes, feeding the animals and picking grapes from the grapevines.

A Could Have Been Better Day

What I ate: This morning I didn’t eat such a good breakfast, I got up and had one of those multi-grain bars, I also had two miniature 3-Musketeer bars. For supper I had Hamburger Helper (Beef Taco). I ate a little bit more than I should of it, I REALLY need to start watching how much red meat I eat, the family buys a lot of red meat, I really need to watch how much I eat of it. After I had went out to feed the dogs, I picked some grapes off of the grape vines and had those as a snack. I also, as a snack, had some crackers with cheese. So, I could have done better in my eating for today, so, hopefully I’ll do better tomorrow because I will have more salad, I was out of salad today.

My exercise for the day: About 1:00 I went walking again, same place, same distance. I figure its a good walk, I can get it in during my lunch break, get back in time to take a shower and then start cleaning, cooking and feeding the animals.

A Good Day For Me

What I ate: This morning I got up and had two fried eggs, fried ham & a biscuit. I haven’t been crazy about fried foods lately, but, it was already prepared and it was at least sitting on paper towels. For lunch I had a salad. For supper I made the MOST DELICIOUS chicken. Now, this may sound fattening, I hope its not too terribly fattening. I took a stick of butter and melted it in a pan, I put the chicken on top of that, I added onion slices, oregano, a tiny amount of creole seasoning and some garlic powder. I baked it for a while and it was SO tender & juicy! Most of the butter stayed in the bottom of the pan, so, I don’t think it was too bad. But, it was VERY delicious! I had mashed potatoes, carrots & peas with it. It was REALLY good!

Also, the reason I used a whole stick was because there was a lot of chicken to fix, I was cooking for the entire family.

I’ve also been drinking a lot of water. For some reason I’ve been craving it. Maybe my body is saying that is what I need. The good thing is, I haven’t been drinking a lot of pop (soda to others). I honestly don’t drink a lot of pop, I do drink a lot of tea though…and of course, my tea has sugar in it, so I’ve been cutting back on the tea.

My exercise for the day: The dog walked me out to the end of the road again today, it was a good walk. It was getting ready to rain again, I’m really glad that I got to go walking though, I seriously think it helped me a lot. I think it gave me energy and made me feel a lot better.

Midnight Snack

I know, I’m a little bit late posting. I’ve been a rather busy bee tonight. I am just now sitting down to a salad, don’t worry, its OK because I haven’t ate a lot today, or at least I don’t think I have.

What I ate today: For breakfast/lunch I had a chicken sandwich. It was on a bun with mayonnaise & a tomato. For supper I had about the same amount of spaghetti that I had yesterday with two rolls. And of course, I am now eating a salad. I didn’t eat a lot today, I’ve been in my office working on some projects so that has kept my mind off of food!

My exercise for the day: Since I was busy, I didn’t do a whole lot. It was also raining. When I went out to feed the dogs (they live outside) I walked around the yard with them and up and down the driveway a little while with them. So, I guess that will be my exercise for the day. Tomorrow, I hope its clear so I can go walking again. Although, I’m a little afraid of the snakes. My step mom saw a copperhead by our mailbox today! There have been 2 in our house this summer! *sigh* OK, I know, BAD excuses! LOL! I’m going back to my salad!

Update: John, I didn’t put too much salad dressing on the salad tonight! You should be proud of me, I haven’t even been putting cheese on my salads lately!

Website Theme

As you can tell, I’ve updated the theme for the blog. Its not finished, I’m still working on it, here is my list of to-do’s:

  • Make it so that you can return to the homepage much easier when you are viewing a single post.
  • Move the page links to a navigation menu where the green bar is.
  • Make inspirational banners that rotate whenever you load another page or re-load the current page
  • Add some color to the sidebar
  • Make a nicer background
  • Make the footer blend in with the site more

If you can think of anything else, feel free to add it in the comments for this post, or email me.

Update: I forgot to mention something earlier. I widened the site up some so that whenever anyone posts images from their Flickr account, they can use the default size that Flickr gives you, the 500 x whatever.

Also, if you feel comfortable using HTML, you can turn off the rich text editor in your user options. I turn the rich text editor off because I feel like it tends to mess things up. Whenever I’ve had a problem with WordPress posts, it usually comes back to the person using the rich text editor.

Thoughts about the site so far: I’m really pleased with the blog so far, I feel as though its taking off! I think we’re going to lose some weight!

What I Ate/Done Today

Eating:

First of all, I thought I’d update you on what I ate today. I didn’t eat anything for breakfast, I got up around noon, I didn’t sleep well and I didn’t want to eat what the family had. They had bacon, eggs & biscuits. The bacon was swimming in fat, it was totally disgusting looking, so I didn’t eat anything for breakfast.

For dinner (lunch to you), I ate spaghetti. It had meat, pasta sauce & noodles. I didn’t eat a lot of it, just about a handful amount. I had two rolls with it.

For supper, I had a salad, which was SOOO good. I’m so tempted to make myself another one!

As far as snacks go, I had 2 chocolate chip cookies & a TINY, fun sized 3-Musketeers bar. I could easily get up and go have more chocolate chip cookies, BUT I WON’T! (I’d rather have the salad!)

Exercising:

The dog and I hit the road this evening after it had cooled down. The dog, Brownie, walked me to the curve of the road. Its not a long distance, but, I was drenched with sweat and exhausted..so, I figure its a good walk.
