Counting Calories

My sister emailed me this morning and asked me to start counting calories for her and report back to her in a couple of days. I went to the kitchen a few minutes ago to get me something to eat for breakfast. I followed the suggested serving size of Raisin Bran which is 1 cup and also 1 cup of milk. To my surprise that is approximately the amount that I would have normally ate. The only problem with the cereal is the milk, we only have 2% milk in the house. I suspect that is something that will have to change.

There are two numbers, Calories and then Calories from fat. I don’t know if I’m suppose to add both of these numbers together or if I should just jot down the calories of each item. The Raisin Bran has 190 calories per cup and 15 calories per cup from fat. I also had 1 cup of Mayfield 2% reduced fat milk with my cereal which has 360 calories per cup. TOTAL CALORIES FOR BREAKFAST: 550 (I think).

According to that, on a 1,000 calorie diet I would not survive! However, I have heard that most people, men in particular, need 3,000 calories.

What is everyone else’s thought on this?

EDIT 1: I forgot to mention, she also asked me to buy a food scale. Don’t exactly know what it will be used for other than measuring food.

EDIT 2: Do I include tea in my calories if I don’t put sugar into it?

EDIT 3: I was wrong. The milk only has 130 calories per cup. That changes my breakfast total to 320 calories. I also called and asked my sister about the tea, she said I could count it as water as long as it had no calories or sugar in it. That won’t be a problem as long as I drink this green tea that Dace bought me for Christmas. With it, I don’t need sugar, it’s flavorful enough. Before I got off the phone, my sister said she set up a “Sparkle” account for me, she told me not to look at it until I figured out the calories, so, I guess it’s like a weight loss help site.

ZillaFat week 2

Well I am being lazy and just doing the update in the texty format.
I was real bad this week and ate pizza and barbecue and basically threw the diet out the window for the most part.
I did manage to lose 1/2 pound so I am at 185 so it was not a complete failure.
I am gonna be back at it come Tuesday but till then all bets are off!
So I am off to a Xmas party and sure to have lots of good food and tommorow it is roast beef..yummy.

Hey Zillafag ! welcome to our family ! u are amazing , I m so proud of you ! keep up the good work !

quick update on my current diet status, I ‘ve lost another 33 pounds since my 1st post here.
as far as BMI is concern (Body Mass Index) still few pounds different from the standard, yeah I will continue my exercises & watch out food intakes, now I m thinking how to get rid of my big boobs.

p/s : current body weight : 185 lbs :-(

Progress

Hey nice to have you Zillafat. :p

I am feeling thin. Even looked thin. But I know it’s not reality because I still couldn’t fit into my regular jeans. I’m in my fat set.

I weighed again today, 189 lbs. I’m quite happy with the progress I’m making. I haven’t started sweatshop yet. I will. I hope. My workssssss are keeping me busy and I really can’t find any physical time. Well, I guess I can. Still working on it.

I’ve been eating a bit more sensibly since my parents’ visit. I am trying to keep up since the left.

Going to the sweatshop is hard. Not just the physical working out, but the whole culture. I have no idea what’s in there. I don’t enjoy much of the “show-your-fat-and-dong” in the shower idea. I may enjoy looking at others, :D, but I don’t enjoy being the subject. I’m sure no one cares. But I do. :p

I guess 7 lbs is progress. The last time I lost this much, I gained it all back!

ZillaFat Day 3

Day 3 and I am at 192 so holy crap I am going all crazy with this but am not starving myself.
I did cheat and had some milk in my coffee but sent my roommie after some non dairy low fat creamer.
I have allready decided this once a day thing is too much so I am going to weekly so no more updates till Saturday.
So I am off to work and going to avoid the vending machines by not bringing money for them!
Okay how about the rest of the peoples here?

I made through day one of SB land and the scale was very kind to me.
195 was the happy number!
I mean holy crap that is 4 pounds and I do not want to hear the first ten pounds is just water shit or I will just scream.
My version of SB is I basically eat two eggs with coffee with skim milk as creamer. Then I have either chicken boob or turkey boob or a lean cut dead cow for my lunch and dinner. I also eat a salad with low fat dressing and celery or broccoli raw for snacks when ever I want them and as much as I want.
There is no portion control and if I am hungry I eat.
Oh and I drink just water and sometimes flavor it with a pretend lemon thingy packet.
I am psyched for day two.
