Fasting for Muslims

Ramadan is the name of the one-month fasting period when Muslims fast from dawn till sunset. During the period of fasting, apart from eating and drinking, Muslims are also forbidden from smoking and having sexual relations. Only the sick are excused from fasting during this month. Muslims are expected to avoid lying, breaking promise or cheating during the month of Ramadan. It is to remind them of the plight of the poor and to cleanse themselves by exercising abstinence and self-control. Even the young are taught to fast. Oh its very effective for weight lost too !

Sorry it doesn’t work for me, haha.. Just can’t stand it.. ( luckily I m not Muslim )

I gained weight

Well guys, I gained weight ! 2 pounds, last week i ate a little bit extra & this is what happen now, although i still carried out all the exercise as scheduled. Do I need to control my food intake my whole life ? I know I know diet is not an easy task & a long one. Watch me ! i wanna say bye to the damn 2 pounds within this week !

Update : ok, i had get rid of 2.5 pounds after 3 days diet in hell.

Okies…Monday…I weighed myself and I gained 3 lbs. Ugh! But going veggie has helped me actually lose those pounds (been eating yummy salads and other yummy veggie foods and meat substitutes). We have a Papa Johns next to us and I get a veggie pizza without any cheese on it (delicious…but I put garlic butter on it…oh well….). Haven’t weighed myself today but I will post tomorrow when I have more time. Doing shownotes for my 6th show which I did on Monday (told you how busy I was) and blog posting and so I will post on here tomorrow. Love you guys!

I had a small piece of cake early in the day with my Dad, I considered that my lunch. The cake was REALLY rich! It was a chocolate cake with fudge icing, it was good, but good lord was it ever rich! I drank a little bit of milk with it. Later yesterday evening I grilled some chicken and bar-b-queued it, had some carrots and mashed potatoes with it. Later on in the evening I had another piece of chicken. Overall, I think I done pretty well.

Tomorrow I’m gonna be a fixin’ fried chicken, mashed taters and opening something up from a can (probably corn and peas) and I’ll be eating cake too! Its my Dad’s birthday tomorrow, good Lord in heaven I hope I can only take a small portion! Oh Lord, there’s gonna be ice cream too! Done soo good this week watching what I eat, drinking water instead of tea…oooh Lord!

No time to binge

I came back to a bunch of work. A lot of stuff going on.

Barely have time to even think about eating. Last week was a mess. Didn’t eat very much or properly. Didn’t binge however. And didn’t really eat unhealthy stuff. For two days I had to survived lunch by munching on apples. That sort of thing.
My brother told me he has lost all the weight he gain on the ship. I haven’t weighed myself since the time after the cruise (197 lbs). I didn’t particularly feel thin. But not too fat either.

Didn’t get to exercise at all. I am still at my peak. I need to get into the 180’s in October, otherwise, I’d be a fat pig going back to Malaysia to celebrate Chinese New Year, which ironically is the year of the Boar, which doesn’t sound as fat as a Pig. Asian people, my family, my friends, mostly think that I’m fat.

I sometimes feel bad whining about my fat. I know there are people who have more to lose. I know Andy does. I know Vincent does. What about you Mike? Based on my 197 lbs mark, I want to lose, fuck, 20-30 lbs. But I shouldn’t feel bad. The last 20 to 30 sometimes are the bitches. And we all connect by fat. ;)
On Archer Radio today, I heard him talking about using the “I’m fat” as a defense mechanism. A way of telling the world that I’m fat, so that people know that I realize I am fat, and mostly, when people tell me I’m fat. It doesn’t hurt as much, because I am already telling myself that.

Sounded kinda sad. But that’s the truth.

Okay! Busy week hopefully over and I can start contributing more on here. Anywho, I have decided to go vegetarian not just for my health, but also cause i’m getting a little more in depth with my spiritual life. I have started my own podcast called The Gay Buddhist and its going to be a bit more about myself and my life and all aspects around it. Trying to get that off of the ground so I haven’t had a whole lot of time to go out and exercise, but hopefully this week I will be able to. Eating less fat this week and being more conscious about my choices in regards to food. I made myself today some veggie quesadillas by sauteing onions and green peppers in olive oil (good for your heart) and cheese. A bit fattening, I know, but i’m going to make up for it by making a veggie and barley soup tonight which is going to be delicious and lot fat! I usually put carrots, celery, onions, stewed tomatoes, potatoes, and barley in it. Usually I put in beef, but to save fat and calories, I won’t! Oh! And some garlic too. Fresh garlic. Not that overpowering powder.

 Anywho, just a quick post and I will be posting my weekly weight tomorrow…wish me luck!

 

P.S.-Was feeling dirty and ugly last night so I went to the Wal-Marts and I got some moisutrising bath suds thingies and a facial mask and some other pore cleansing products…felt like a Chunky Goddess afterwards! We big girls must pamper ourselves once in a while, no? ;)

Just to clear up about the title for this post, someone posted a blog article and forgot to change the category ;) lol, I need to login and see who it was and fix it, I just thought it was humorous when I saw it earlier this week.

This week has been really busy for me. I’ve been swamped. I’ve been working on websites, which is good, means I’m making a little bit of money! The only problem is, it cuts down on the time I have to exercise, so, mostly for my exercise this week I’ve just been going out into the yard and walking around, playing with the dogs, picking grapes off of the grape vines, taking pictures of the fall colors. I am REALLY hoping that the leaves don’t just fall off the trees, THEN turn, like they have in the past.

As far as my eating goes, I’ve been watching my in-take of food. If we have hamburgers, instead of eating two, I’ll just have one and then maybe save the second one for the next days lunch. I’ve also been getting up each morning and fixing oatmeal and topping it with honey and cinnamon instead of sugar like I would use to in the past. Its really good, I quite like it. According to my Dad & some one he was talking to about weight loss, it helps you…not sure how, but supposedly it does. I’m really surprised I like it so well. I use to put butter and sugar into my white rice AND oatmeal! I’ve also been eating grapes instead of junk food, especially at night, I think it helps out a lot.

I do notice that I don’t have a significant amount of energy like I did when I was walking. Unfortunately, like I said, I’ve been so busy I just can’t go walking. Its really sad, I’ve been having to schedule times when I can re-boot my computer. BUT, hopefully I’ll get some things finished soon and I can go walking back out the road. OOOH, I did go walking today though. I walked up to our field and walked around up there for a little while, taking pictures and getting leafs for the leaf mobile I made.

I can’t remember if I mentioned it before or not, but, guess what. The pants that I bought at the store a couple of weeks ago, they’re TOO big!!! That made me SOO happy. I put them on the other day and they’re AT LEAST an inch a half too big for me. Also, an old pair of my pants fit a lot better now. Hopefully staying busy, drinking water, doing a LITTLE exercise is doing me some good.

Also, they say you’re suppose to do AT LEAST 30 minutes of exercise a day, does doing the dishes, washing & folding laundry and feeding the dogs count (they live outside)??? Just curious.

I bought this cool gadget today & I started to use it right away ! jogging, while I m keeping eyes on the road, this product tells you how many steps you have taken, how far you have walked or jogged, and how much calories you have burnt, it also a real time clock, count up timer ,alarm & it is talking !

I jogged 2 kM , I burnt 200kcal, 980 steps.

It is definately a valuable asset for joggers ! oh boy I sound like a product promoter now :-)
