Cat is gone, mice will play.

So, John is gone on vacation. Since he’s gone on vacation and going to be eating a lot of very yummy food, maybe we should take a vacation too? Make a bunch of food, have a grand ole feast? No? *sigh* OK, FINE! I won’t do it! I promise!

What I ate today: For lunch today (I didn’t have breakfast) I had a salad, I put onion & tomato into the salad mix (I get salad from a bag). I also added a little bit of Italian dressing. It would have been better with olives, but, we don’t have any, so, OH WELL! For supper this evening I had another salad, I put onions & tomato in it again, but this time I used a little bit of French dressing and I also cut up some baked chicken that was leftover and put into the salad. I also had just a little bit of spaghetti later on in the evening because the salad apparently wasn’t enough to fill me up. For snacks today I ate grapes. I even went back down to the grape vines and picked some more, which I’ll be doing again tomorrow and until they’re all gone.

My exercise today: Well, I was bad today, well, not necessarily, I wasn’t bad, the weather was bad so I didn’t get to go walking. I guess the only exercise I got today was doing the dishes, feeding the animals and picking grapes from the grapevines.

A Could Have Been Better Day

What I ate: This morning I didn’t eat such a good breakfast, I got up and had one of those multi-grain bars, I also had two miniature 3-Musketeer bars. For supper I had Hamburger Helper (Beef Taco). I ate a little bit more than I should of it, I REALLY need to start watching how much red meat I eat, the family buys a lot of red meat, I really need to watch how much I eat of it. After I had went out to feed the dogs, I picked some grapes off of the grape vines and had those as a snack. I also, as a snack, had some crackers with cheese. So, I could have done better in my eating for today, so, hopefully I’ll do better tomorrow because I will have more salad, I was out of salad today.

My exercise for the day: About 1:00 I went walking again, same place, same distance. I figure its a good walk, I can get it in during my lunch break, get back in time to take a shower and then start cleaning, cooking and feeding the animals.

Breakfast on Malaysian National Day

Soto

Today is Malaysian National Day, I woke up early this morning preparing my own breakfast as well as for my family. I cook a traditional Malay food called ‘Soto’, John, u should know it right ? as you can see from the pix i posted, compressed rice cube with chicken based soup, No meat added (anti-fat). a bowl of it will cover my breakfast n lunch already. I have to go for soup instead of frying foods, it should able to help for any weight increase, i guess :-) 

A Good Day For Me

What I ate: This morning I got up and had two fried eggs, fried ham & a biscuit. I haven’t been crazy about fried foods lately, but, it was already prepared and it was at least sitting on paper towels. For lunch I had a salad. For supper I made the MOST DELICIOUS chicken. Now, this may sound fattening, I hope its not too terribly fattening. I took a stick of butter and melted it in a pan, I put the chicken on top of that, I added onion slices, oregano, a tiny amount of creole seasoning and some garlic powder. I baked it for a while and it was SO tender & juicy! Most of the butter stayed in the bottom of the pan, so, I don’t think it was too bad. But, it was VERY delicious! I had mashed potatoes, carrots & peas with it. It was REALLY good!

Also, the reason I used a whole stick was because there was a lot of chicken to fix, I was cooking for the entire family.

I’ve also been drinking a lot of water. For some reason I’ve been craving it. Maybe my body is saying that is what I need. The good thing is, I haven’t been drinking a lot of pop (soda to others). I honestly don’t drink a lot of pop, I do drink a lot of tea though…and of course, my tea has sugar in it, so I’ve been cutting back on the tea.

My exercise for the day: The dog walked me out to the end of the road again today, it was a good walk. It was getting ready to rain again, I’m really glad that I got to go walking though, I seriously think it helped me a lot. I think it gave me energy and made me feel a lot better.

A strength to carry on

A colleague of mine from another branch came by, he said ” oh Vincent, what happen to you, u look thin nowadays ! “. My god, I m so happy, thats really boost me up, even I m not reaching my target yet, but it gave me the strength to carry on my diet, some courage really necessary to achieve our goal. :-)

Took the steps

My exercise today was taking the steps to go to my car after work. Four stories. I could have taken the elevator. But I chose the stairs. Oops, my only exercise. I started the day at 7:30am, came back home at 10:15PM. Busy whore, exercise is a chore.
You read about my lunch. Dinner was left over Chinese porridge and a bit of egg salad. I am more of a portion control dieter now, and trying to do more exercise. I’m trying to get into the routine of getting 3 days a week of exercise. I’m sitting on the floor, and my fat on my tummy and my side bunched up like rolls of fat mountains. Good night.

Midnight Snack

I know, I’m a little bit late posting. I’ve been a rather busy bee tonight. I am just now sitting down to a salad, don’t worry, its OK because I haven’t ate a lot today, or at least I don’t think I have.

What I ate today: For breakfast/lunch I had a chicken sandwich. It was on a bun with mayonnaise & a tomato. For supper I had about the same amount of spaghetti that I had yesterday with two rolls. And of course, I am now eating a salad. I didn’t eat a lot today, I’ve been in my office working on some projects so that has kept my mind off of food!

My exercise for the day: Since I was busy, I didn’t do a whole lot. It was also raining. When I went out to feed the dogs (they live outside) I walked around the yard with them and up and down the driveway a little while with them. So, I guess that will be my exercise for the day. Tomorrow, I hope its clear so I can go walking again. Although, I’m a little afraid of the snakes. My step mom saw a copperhead by our mailbox today! There have been 2 in our house this summer! *sigh* OK, I know, BAD excuses! LOL! I’m going back to my salad!

Update: John, I didn’t put too much salad dressing on the salad tonight! You should be proud of me, I haven’t even been putting cheese on my salads lately!

Diet Plan

I started my diet since March 2006, as at today 28th Aug 2006, I lost 22 pounds.

I watched my food intake, sometimes, I skip dinner, I do exercise 3 times a week, half an hour each time. ( jogging ),& I  sweat like a pig (*g*)

My goal is to get another 20 pounds reduced.

Website Theme

As you can tell, I’ve updated the theme for the blog. Its not finished, I’m still working on it, here is my list of to-do’s:

  • Make it so that you can return to the homepage much easier when you are viewing a single post.
  • Move the page links to a navigation menu where the green bar is.
  • Make inspirational banners that rotate whenever you load another page or re-load the current page
  • Add some color to the sidebar
  • Make a nicer background
  • Make the footer blend in with the site more

If you can think of anything else, feel free to add it in the comments for this post, or email me.

Update: I forgot to mention something earlier. I widened the site up some so that whenever anyone posts images from their Flickr account, they can use the default size that Flickr gives you, the 500 x whatever.

Also, if you feel comfortable using HTML, you can turn off the rich text editor in your user options. I turn the rich text editor off because I feel like it tends to mess things up. Whenever I’ve had a problem with WordPress posts, it usually comes back to the person using the rich text editor.

Thoughts about the site so far: I’m really pleased with the blog so far, I feel as though its taking off! I think we’re going to lose some weight!

First day

Well, I weighed myself today…284. Bleh, fat whore!!! So for lunch today I had some Mock Hot and Spicy beef with Brown Rice (more fiber!!). I had the Hot and Sour soup (should have had the miso) and the eggroll…but but it came with the meal!!! My exercise for the day is I walked to my car to my classes and back, and my parking spot is a good 15 minutes away so roundtrip its a good 30 minute walk. My snack…okay, don’t hate me but I had half of a bag of Cheetos left over and so I don’t want to throw it away…so i’m eating them…but dinner I made yesterday some Chili Cheese Hamburger Helper but instead of the ground beef, I used the Morningstar Fake Steak strips so cut down a lot of fat and cholesterol on that. And I used 2% milk. I’m going to have that for dinner. So first day…kind of bad but not too bad. Lets see if I can get to the gym today, but UPS still hasn’t delivered my FRICKIN’ SENSEO!!!! Gaah!!!! And I have to be the fabulous gay man and help redecorate my store (Starbucks) so maybe i’ll get to the gym after that. Hopefully….
